OVER 500 LOTS GOING UNDER THE HAMMER AT AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY AUCTION AT HEYDON
Published 16 June 2021
Tractors, machinery and equipment, trailers and a vintage Foden Lorry will go under the hammer at Park Farm in Heydon later this month, following the retirement of the family which has been farming the land on the Heydon Estate for 100 years.
A combine harvester, seven tractors, vintage lorries and a huge range of agricultural machinery is included in the sale, which follows the decision of the Buxton family to step back from farming at Park Farm.
A further 100 lots from other local farm concerns are also included in the auction, which takes place on Wednesday 23rd June at Park Farm in Heydon.
The sale marks the return of in-person bidding after lockdown, which is an important turning point, according to Simon Evans of auctioneers Arnolds Keys Irelands Agricultural.
“We are delighted to be able to mount our first full-scale in-person auction since the lockdown restrictions eased, and it is a wide-ranging sale from one of Norfolk’s longstanding agricultural tenancies,” said Mr Evans.
“The 420 lots from Park Farm, along with the 100 or so other items included in the sale, are already attracting attention from potential buyers throughout the county and beyond, and we are expecting a strong turnout on the day.”
The sale will be conducted under strict Covid-safe conditions in accordance with Government guidelines which may include face coverings, social distancing and Test And Trace registration.
“We know that there are many buyers who have been waiting for our agricultural auctions programme to restart, and we will operate in a safe way which complies with current Covid rules,” said Mr Evans.
The sale of farm machinery and livestock equipment takes place on Wednesday 23rd June from 10am at Park Farm in Heydon. Viewing is available on-site on Tuesday 22nd June from 10am to 4pm, and on the morning of the sale.
