Jan Hÿtch awarded Propertymark's Lifelong Achievement Award
Published 17 May 2017
We are delighted to announce that Jan Hÿtch has been recognised with the first ever Lifelong Achievement Award presented by Propertymark UK. She received the accolade at the annual Propertymark Qualifications Awards, which recognise exceptional individual or company wide commitment to learning within the profession.
A former National Association of Estate Agents President and long-time member of the Propertymark board, Jan was described by awards judges as ‘a successful businesswoman and East Anglian estate agency icon, who is hugely passionate about the sector and equally about education and learning’.
She received the award at a ceremony at London’s Le Meridien Hotel, attended by industry leaders, as well as the cream of the profession’s up-and-coming practitioners.
In 2014 Jan launched the first ever full time course in the UK for 16-19 year olds to become estate and letting agents at City College Norwich in 2014. The course is set to roll out to other colleges in the future, with Brighton Metropolitan College following this September.
Jan commented, “I am honoured and humbled to be recognised with the first ever Lifelong Achievement Award presented by Propertymark. I have always believed that training and professional development are central to creating a truly professional property sector, and to providing our clients with the best possible service.”
NAEA Propertymark Chief Executive Mark Hayward added, “The right approach to education makes a good agent really stand out; fostering an appetite for learning and combining that with professional experience both in relation to individuals and embedded within the culture of a business. The industry has a lot to be proud of.”
